Senior Customer Service Representative

Hey everyone, I’m Melissa! With over 20 years in management and hospitality, along with one and a half years managing in the beauty industry, I’ve always been passionate about people, service and creating memorable experiences. While I thoroughly enjoyed my work, I was ready for a new challenge. I’d always been curious about the trade industry, so when I joined aba TRADES just under a year ago, I took the plunge and honestly – I haven’t looked back.

I’m the super friendly voice and fast-typing fingers behind the scenes – responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to both our clients along with our staff. My role covers a wide range of responsibilities being everything from customer enquiries and scheduling our service technicians, to assisting with payroll, writing SOPs and training new CSRs. Basically, if it needs doing – I’m on to it!

I pride myself on making everyone feel seen, valued and being a go-to support for my team as well as bringing positivity into the workplace. I’m the little pocket rocket of the office – always on the go, always smiling, and always ready with a joke or a cheeky one-liner to keep the mood light. Being a mama, I have a super caring, loving nature and I put my whole heart into my work (along with a healthy dose of caffeine). I believe that building trust and genuine relationships with customers is everything – if we can share a laugh, we’re already halfway to creating an unforgettable experience.

From day one, the aba TRADES family has made me feel right at home. I may have been new to the industry, but I’ve already learnt so much and I’m excited to keep expanding my knowledge in all areas of the business.

Fun fact: At bite size 5’3, I once dreamt of playing in the WNBA, having played basketball well into my late teens. Although I didn’t chase that dream, after two decades in customer service, I’ve discovered I could probably sell ice to an eskimo, so I think I’ll stick to that! I can also never say no to a cheeky pina colada as well as cake. No flavour in particular – If there’s 3 choices, I’m having all 3!
