Apprentice Coordinator
I’m the team leader at aba TRADES with a career expanding over 20+ years in the plumbing industry. I have built a strong foundation through hands on experience, dedication, and a genuine passion for the trade. I began my journey as a plumbing apprentice, learning from the ground up and developing a solid understanding of both residential and commercial systems.
As I gained more knowledge and confidence, I took on a role of a Plumbing Supervisor where I grew as a person and developed leadership skills and pride in delivering high quality work while supporting growth of my own team. My commitment to excellence led to the role of a Plumbing Manager where I oversaw multiple projects, managed teams, and ensured compliance with safety and industry standards were met.
Eventually I transitioned into the role of Operations Manager, where I was responsible for team performance, strategic planning, project execution, and safety performance. It was during this time that I discovered a deep passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of plumbers and apprentices.
Now, as a Team Leader of aba TRADES, I bring both technical expertise and leadership experience to the role. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and educational environment where team members can thrive, grow their skills, and take pride in their work.
My focus is not just on getting the job done, but on building a team that is confident, capable, and ready to take our company forward.
One of the things I appreciate most about working here is the positive environment and the shared vision of growth and excellence everyone shows towards one another. Support is always available and there is a clear focus on developing skills across all levels – from apprentice to tradesman.
Being a part of this team reminds me why I fell in love with the trade in the first place. To me it’s more than just the work, it’s about building a legacy of quality, trust, and teamwork.
Fun Fact: When the tools are down, you’ll find me watching the footy – especially my beloved North Adelaide Roosters in the SANFL, or watching my son play. With a couple of scotches in hand, reminiscing about the good old days. And yes at 50, I proudly hold the title of oldest employee in the company. Just don’t get me to race the apprentices! HAHAHA!
